BOSTON (Aug. 19, 2020) Liberty Mutual Insurance is proud to be one of the 164 companies recognized by Military Times as Best for Vets: Employers 2020.   The annual survey is a highly respected analysis of a company’s efforts to connect with veterans and provide an environment for success.

Best for Vets: Employers rankings were based on a voluntary survey that included more than 100 questions seeking detailed information based on the individual company’s policies and practices related to veteran recruitment and retention, support for translation of military skills to civilian credentials, support for military spouse employment and accommodations for members of the National Guard and reserves.

A recipient of the Massachusetts Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve (ESGR) Pro Patria Award in the Large Business Category and the ESGR Patriot Employer Award as well as a signatory of the ESGR Statement of Support, Liberty Mutual proudly supports its employees who are military service members and veterans with benefits and programs that help them build fulfilling careers.  These include:

Valor@Liberty + Allies: As one of Liberty Mutual's Employee Resource Groups (ERGs), Valor@Liberty seeks to engage and empower our military, veterans and ally community by creating strong internal networks and external program support.

American Corporate Partners Program: Liberty Mutual is honored to be a participant in the American Corporate Partners (ACP) mentoring program. ACP is a non-profit that offers career mentoring for veterans of the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq who are transitioning to work in a civilian setting.

Reservist Pay/Benefits: Liberty Mutual offers paid time off and continuation of benefits for annual training, as well as up to two years of pay differential and benefits continuation for military members called to active duty, including the National Guard and Reserve.
 

Philanthropy: Liberty Mutual recently completed a multi-year grant of $50,000 with the New England Center for Homeless Veterans, an association the company has supported since 2008. Liberty Mutual also provided a $50,000 grant to Boston-based New England Center and Home for Veterans and $30,000 grant to Community Rowing, an organization that offers free programs to veterans.

In addition, Liberty Mutual employee donation and match totaled $393,363 in contributions for Veterans organizations across the country.
