Accessibility

Liberty Mutual Foundation seeks to support accessibility for people of all abilities as they pursue their goals in education, health, employment and all other daily activities.

To that end, the Foundation looks to support best-in-class organizations that promote inclusion in which service to people with disabilities is not at the core of their mission. As well as, organizations that primarily serve those within the disability community.

Liberty has supported several programs at Partners for Youth with Disabilities (PYD) that foster empowerment for the public and training for other nonprofit agencies as part of our long-standing commitment to promoting access for those with disabilities. For several years PYD has built upon its success with the P2I program, (P2I= Pathways to Inclusion) working with nonprofits to strengthen their competencies around organizational disability inclusion. PYD/ P2I offers a free membership to the eLearning network to all Liberty Mutual and Safeco Insurance Fund grantees.

The program includes the following components: 1) an Inclusion self-assessment process 2) Access to 8 foundational disability inclusion courses, with corresponding certificate of completion 3) Monthly webinar series featuring best practices, case studies, and new research 4) The ability to promote commitment to inclusion by sharing their P2I badge in their marketing.

A tool organizations can use to assess their strengths and opportunities for improvement is available below. This tool can provide a baseline and help organizations enhance their ability to be inclusive and accessible.
