Charity Series Tees-Off 2015 Slate of 80 Events on May 4

March 9, 2015 - Kurt Hesse (Farmington Hills, Mich.), Rob Reynolds (Port St. Lucie, Fla.), Marvin Epperson (Lapeer, Mich.) and John Bailey (Davisburg, Mich.) recently won the Liberty Mutual Invitational National Championship at TPC Sawgrass in Ponte Vedra, Fla.

The February 26-March 1 competition was the culmination of a series of more than 75 charity golf tournaments around the country in 2014 hosted by Liberty Mutual Insurance and local and national charitable organizations that raised more than $7.2 million for charity last year and more than $28  million since its inception in 2010.  The foursome qualified for the national finals by winning a local Invitational event at the Oakland Hills (Mich.) Country Club where they competed in support of The Rehabilitation Institute of Michigan (RIM) Foundation in Detroit.

“We congratulate our winners as well as each of our 240 participants for their personal achievement on the course, and for helping Liberty Mutual raise more than $7 million for more than 60 charities in their communities and around the nation,” said John Coombe, vice president of brand management and sponsorships at Liberty Mutual.

The 2015 Liberty Mutual Insurance Invitational will tee off its slate of 80 local tournaments with a pair of events on May 4 at Smoke Rise Country Club in Stone Mountain, Ga., to benefit the American Parkinson’s Disease Association, and at Oak Hills Country Club in Omaha, Neb., to benefit the Nebraska Kidney Foundation.  The winners of each local event will qualify for the National Finals to be played March 30-April 3, 2016, at Pinehurst Resort.  A complete 2015 Liberty Mutual Invitational tournament schedule is available at libertymutualinvitational.com.
