Alfredo Sciascia - Executive Vice President
Alfredo is the Head of CS&R, and oversees the team’s portfolio of transformative and diverse projects. Currently, these focus on themes like Artificial Intelligence and growth strategy for emerging markets.
Prior to joining Liberty Mutual, Alfredo spent 8 years as the Vice President & Relationship Leader/Head of the Strategic Planning Group at American Express in their New York & London offices. Before that, he held leadership roles at financial/media institutions (Citigroup, LexisNexus) and consulting firms (Bain, Accenture, and AT Kearney).
Alfredo earned his MBA from Columbia Business School and B.A. in Business Administration in Marketing from Universita Commerciale Bocconi in Milan, Italy.
Steven Lee
Steve Lee is the AVP, Director of Business Operations of the Corporate Strategy & Research (CS&R) group. Prior to CS&R, he served as Director of Product Analysis II in Liberty’s Commercial Insurance business line and as Sr. Manager, Financial Analysis & Operations in Liberty’s HR function (Talent & Enterprise Services). Before joining the company, Steve held previous roles within management consulting firms including Deloitte Consulting, PwC, and EY. Steve holds a B.S. in Business Administration and an MBA in Strategy and Finance from Boston University’s Questrom School of Business.
Will Barden
Will Barden is a Managing Director with CS&R. He joined CS&R in early 2019. He has led multiple strategic projects during his time. Prior to Liberty Mutual, Will worked for five years at EY-Parthenon, a strategy consulting firm where he primarily focused on private equity due diligence analyses for clients across a variety of industries. Prior to business school, Will worked as an investment banking associate at William Blair. Will received his B.A. in Economics from Northwestern University and his MBA from the Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth.
Monica Gabel
Monica Gabel joined CS&R as a Managing Director in 2019. Prior to joining Liberty, Monica worked in consulting at A.T. Kearney, and AlixPartners, advising payment companies and retail banks on their innovation and growth strategies. Monica previously worked as an equity research analyst at Goldman Sachs, was part of the strategic planning group at MBIA, and a member of the research team at the Peruvian regulatory agency for financial institutions. Monica has an MBA from the Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth, as well as a Master in Finance and a B.A. in Economics from Universidad del Pacifico in Peru.
Chris Gomsak
Chris Gomsak is a Managing Director with CS&R. He joined in March 2019 from Deloitte Consulting’s strategy practice (Monitor Deloitte) in NYC where he spent ~4.5 years, most recently as Engagement Manager. During his time at Deloitte, Chris led strategy development and capability building/transformation engagements across several sectors (TMT, Healthcare, Financial Services, and C&IP). Chris received his MBA from the Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth in 2014 and his BBA from the University of Notre Dame in 2005.
Alison (Riep) Kinzie
Alison Kinzie joined CS&R as a Managing Director in 2020. Alison has spent her career designing and implementing organic growth strategies for senior executives at global Fortune 500 companies. Most recently, she led the market entry strategy for a new commercial application for Crane Currency. Prior to that, she spent 10+ years at Deloitte Consulting and Monitor Group, where she worked across a wide range of industries and geographies. Alison received her MBA from the MIT Sloan School of Management and her B.A. from Dartmouth College.
Dan Kleberg
Dan Kleberg is a Managing Director with CS&R. He joined the group from Deloitte Consulting, where he focused primarily on growth strategy and turnaround planning for global financial institutions. Dan holds an MBA from the Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth and previously served as a Captain in the US Marine Corps, where he held various leadership positions in the operating forces.
Christine LaBarre - Managing Director, Neuron
Christine LaBarre is the Managing Director of Neuron, which is a sub-team of CS&R. Neuron’s mission is to act as a catalyst for Artificial intelligence (AI)-enabled innovation across Liberty Mutual, and all of insurance, which includes driving the company’s recently established AI Collaboration with one of the top research institutions in the world. Christine joined Liberty Mutual and CS&R in 2020 after spending 7+ years in McKinsey & Company’s Insurance practice, most recently as an Analytics Expert (Engagement Manager), with a dedicated focus serving Fortune 100 P&C and Life clients across the U.S. and internationally in South America and Africa. Christine was one of the founding members of McKinsey’s Ingenuity practice, their homegrown Analytics practice dedicated to serving Insurance sector clients, where she led specialized engagement teams comprised of data scientists and data engineers. Christine has an MBA from Tepper School of Business at Carnegie Mellon University and a BSBA from the University of Tulsa.
Ian Mackenzie
Ian Mackenzie is a Managing Director who has worked with nearly all parts of Liberty Mutual. His projects have focused on a range of topics, including artificial intelligence, international distribution, M&A, new automation programs, and marketing innovation. Prior to joining CS&R, he spent two years at the Boston Consulting Group and five years as an independent management consultant. He has an MBA from Ross School of Business and a B.A. from the University of Washington.
Scott Whitefield
Scott Whitefield is a Managing Director with CS&R. Scott joined CS&R as a consultant in 2014 after completing his MBA at Babson College. Prior to Liberty, Scott worked at Raytheon Company as an Operations Manager responsible for leading cross-functional manufacturing organizations. Prior to his roles in Operations, Scott worked as a Systems Engineer on integration/verification of several complex military defense systems. Scott has an M.S. and B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from Boston University and Bucknell University, respectively.
