Established in 1999, the Center for Disability Research (CDR) studies worker disability and return-to-work for injured or disabled workers. CDR seeks to reduce the consequences associated with occupational disability by improving the understanding of the return-to-work process and developing effective strategies for the safe and sustained return to work of injured workers.
CDR research scientists examine factors associated with prognosis, re-injury, and job retention, as well as the impact of case management, clinical treatments, and other post-injury interventions on work disability. The findings from CDR investigations help physicians, case managers, and employers better understand the disability process and improve return-to-work outcomes, and ultimately improve the quality of life for workers.
