1. How do we apply for sponsorships (such as sporting and marketing opportunities, etc.)? 
  Sponsorship requests are not considered through the Liberty Mutual Foundation.  These requests should be submitted in writing to:  Liberty Mutual Group, Vice President, Communications Support, 175 Berkeley Street, 10D, Boston, MA  02117.  Due to the volume of Sponsorship requests, we are unable to reply to every solicitation.  However, if we plan to participate, we will notify you.

2. How do we apply for dinners or memberships? 
  Dinners and memberships are not considered through the Liberty Mutual Foundation.  These requests should be submitted in writing to:  Liberty Mutual Group, Director of Corporate Public Affairs, 175 Berkeley Street, 10B, Boston, MA  02117.  Due to the volume of requests, we are unable to reply to each request.  However, if we plan to participate, we will notify you.

3. What about applying for charitable contributions? 
  Liberty Mutual Foundation has an on-line grant application.  Please read Liberty Mutual Foundation's Guidelines before applying.

4. Does Liberty Mutual Foundation (LMF) have a matching gifts program?
  No.  We do not have a matching gifts program.

5. Does Liberty Mutual Foundation accept letters of intent?
  No.  The narrative, financials, board list, project budget and other attachments weigh in too heavily for us to advise from a letter of intent alone.

6. When is LMF's application deadline?
  There is no deadline.  We review on a rolling basis--first in, first reviewed.

7. How will we know if LMF received our on-line application successfully?
  You will receive an e-mail upon successful submission of your application.

8. For on-line proposals, when and how will we be notified of a decision?
  We will send you a letter via U.S. mail within 6 to 8 weeks of submission.

9. How much time is required to complete the on-line application?
  You will need about one hour.  You can save your work along the way should you get interrupted.

10. What materials do I need to complete the application?
  Along with completing a few questions, you will need to:
•upload the organization's budget  (and the program budget, if you're applying for programmatic support)
•upload (or e-mail) the financial statements prepared by an independent public accountant or certified public accountant
•enter the names of your Board of Directors along with their affiliations
•list other funders and their levels of support

11. What percentage of proposals does Liberty Mutual Foundation fund each year and what is the typical grant amount?
  In 2005, LMF funded about 33% of total proposals received and the median grant was $7,500.
