Established in 2003, the Liberty Mutual Foundation supports the communities in which we live and work. Our grants attempt to educate low-income children, strengthen cultural treasures, protect our most fragile, and uplift those most often left out or behind. Our grant-making priorities are education and broad based health and human services. We also invest in access to health care for low-income individuals, and cultural organizations.
We strive to give nonprofit organizations the flexibility they need. Therefore, the Liberty Mutual Foundation makes grants for operating, program, capital and multi-year support. And our review process is continuous.
Our goal is to invest in leadership that is responsible. To that end, we give preference to nonprofit organizations with these attributes:
- solid financials;
- clearly articulated systems for measuring impact;
- a strong board and staff; and,
- thoughtful strategic plans and budgets.
