Diversity Equals Success
As a growing international company, Liberty Mutual Insurance serves customers from different cultures and backgrounds. To succeed in this global environment, our workforce, vendors and business partners must reflect the communities in which we live and work.
Mutual Success Through Diversity
With that goal in mind, we actively support minority-owned business enterprises (MBEs). By doing so, we contribute to the overall economic success of the communities we serve and the expansion of our markets. In fact, whether we purchase direct from MBEs, or MBEs subcontract with our primary vendors, we all win.
Our Supplier Diversity Program supports this commitment with three objectives:
Become a Liberty Mutual Insurance Supplier
If you wish to be considered as a supplier and to participate in bidding opportunities, please complete our Supplier Profile located on the right, under the heading Register With Us. Upon receipt, we will forward your company’s profile to the appropriate purchasing manager for entry into our database of interested suppliers. We reference this database when considering bid lists and RFIs.
We look forward to doing business with you!
Liberty Mutual Insurance: 2011 Corporate Advocate of the Year
We received the "Corporate Advocacy of the Year Award" for MED Week 2011 during the 6th Annual Minority Enterprises Development Week Awards Celebration and Conference hosted by the Associated Minority Business Enterprises of New England (AMBE).
Since 1983, all U.S. Presidents have proclaimed this observance to recognize the outstanding achievements of minority business owners and to honor those corporations, agencies, and financial institutions that support minority business development.
Liberty Mutual Insurance: 2010 Champion of Supplier Diversity
Diversity Plus magazine is one of the leading Diversity magazines in the United States with twelve years of experience covering diversity issues and events. One of the most coveted editions that companies hope to be included in, is the annual Corporate Champions of Diversity issue. More than 15,000 women and minority suppliers across the country participated in the 2010 Champions of Diversity nomination process. These suppliers were contacted and asked to complete a survey to nominate three companies as a Champion of Diversity.
The companies nominated needed to demonstrate best practice processes that champion supplier diversity initiatives within the company. There were over 100 companies nominated for the award and Liberty Mutual Insurance was 1 out of 25 companies recognized and awarded as a Champion of Diversity. We were selected based on providing leadership to, and mentoring of, diverse suppliers. We have increased diversity spend year over year by providing various internal program awareness activities to employees involved in vendor selection processes.
Liberty Mutual Insurance is also active nationally and locally as a result of relationships with the National Minority Supplier Development Council (NMSDC) and the local chapter of the NMSDC, the Greater New England Minority Supplier Development Council. We have representation on the Board of Directors of both organizations. Membership and advocacy in the organization mentioned above complimented by our internal activities have strengthened our Supplier Diversity Program.
