Building Relationships to Advance Science

The Research Institute develops collaborative relationships to facilitate the exchange of ideas and technologies, to increase awareness of occupational safety and health, and to enhance worker safety worldwide. To achieve these goals, the Institute pursues several strategic initiatives, including formal, on-going affiliations with selected, world-recognized research organizations, the Institute's visiting scientist programs, and awards programs. Our Visiting Scholar Program offers unique collaborative opportunities for senior research scientists. Our post-doctoral fellowship program provides longer-term research opportunities in collaboration with university partners, and our joint Safety Research Fellowship with the American Society of Safety Engineers Foundation offers shorter-term research opportunities. The Research Institute also partners with prominent health and safety organizations to present awards that encourage excellence in occupational safety and health research.
