For 60 years, the Liberty Mutual Research Institute for Safety has helped to improve the safety and health of people throughout the world. Owned and operated by Liberty Mutual Insurance, Boston, MA, the Institute conducts peer-reviewed research to advance scientific knowledge and help reduce injuries and prevent disability.

Dr. Glenn S. Pransky, Director of the Center for Disability Research, received the 2015 Health Achievement in Occupational Medicine Award from the American College of Occupational and Environmental Medicine (ACOEM). Read the press release.
The Chartered Institute of Ergonomics and Human Factors and the Research Institute announce the 2015 Liberty Mutual Best Paper Award. The winning paper discusses action research in human factors engineering.
Featured Scientific Publications
The Journal of Occupational Rehabilitation published an Institute investigation entitled, "The Job Accommodation Scale (JAS): Psychometric evaluation of a new measure of employer support for temporary job modifications."
The journal Accident Analysis and Prevention published "Development and validation of safety climate scales for mobile remote workers using utility/electrical workers as exemplar."
An Institute study, "Shoulder muscle fatigue development in young and older female adults during a repetitive manual task," was published in Ergonomics.
